Where in the world is Jackie?

iStock_000022998034SmallFirst, let me apologize for not being more consistent with posting lately. In case you didn’t notice, last week was my first time publishing a post in three months. But it’s not like I was twiddling my thumbs over the summer and doing nothing. My summer was extremely busy! As a matter of fact, I’d like to bring you up to speed on what’s been happening with me lately.

I Have a Secret!

I’ve been working on a book, The Seven Secrets Guys Will Never Tell You, for longer than I care to admit and finally decided that recording a DVD of an assembly may be an easier task to accomplish in the short term. I was right! This summer, I released two DVDs, one for girls and one for guys. You can find out more about the DVDs and place an order here.

DVD Covers3

My next project will be a DVD for parents. I will be sharing details soon about the recording of that DVD. If you live in the Atlanta area and are interested in being a member of the audience during the recording, please let me know.

I haven’t given up on the book mentioned above and hope to finally get the book published in some format within the next year.  Over the summer, I recorded footage of three young men sharing their thoughts on the “seven secrets.” They were great! I can’t wait to bring a “LIVE” edition of the book to reality. It’s going to be a real eye-opener for girls.

#3DSexTalk “Back-to-School” Edition

I gave a “Back-to-School Sex Talk” to listeners of the K.D. Bowe Show’s Man-Up! Monday radio program.  I shared effective tools for engaging teen boys about making healthy life choices for their future. The first show received so much positive feedback, that I was invited back the following Monday for a follow-up discussion about the impact of fatherlessness on both guys and girls. K.D. Bowe and his Man-Up! Monday co-host, Pastor Jasper Williams III, were so moved by the end of the show, that they challenged their male listeners to a thirty-day, #DadChallengeATL. It was great to see fathers across Atlanta answer the call and share special moments via tweets and FB posts, that they spent with their kids every day!

I’m also currently in the middle of a Back-to-School tour traveling across the state conducting assemblies in middle and high schools. In the past two weeks, I’ve spoken to over 2000 students. By the end of September, I will have already spoken to close to 10,000 students since August.

As you can see, life has been quite busy for me. I am finally ready to get back to blogging consistently, but I want to make sure my posts add value to your life. And I need your help!

What would you like to read?

I would love to get your input about what you would like to see as I move forward with this blog in the future. Following are some thoughts/ideas that I’m considering:

1.     Short 3-5 minute video clips for teens (these could be shared with your teens).

2.     Short 3-5 minute video blogs specifically for parents.

3.     Letters from and/or interviews with students that give you a glimpse inside the world of teens

4.     Posts about my teaching methods and effective strategies.

5.     Interviews with special guests (i.e. authors, doctors, specialists in the field).

Please send me an email or leave a comment below about the type of content you would be interested in reading on my blog.
