If you were to ask me what is the one thing that can make the difference in whether a girl says yes or no to sex, I’d say CONFIDENCE!
Confidence is Key!
Am I saying that girls who have confidence will always choose to abstain?
Not at all.
But I am saying that girls who suffer from a lack of confidence are more likely to engage in sex and other risky behaviors.
“I saw nothing wrong in the path I was going on until you came and spoke to our class. I was still heartbroken over my first love who really destroyed my self-confidence. I slept with three guys after him. I felt disgusting like I had disappointed myself and everyone, although they didn’t know.”
Imagine how differently this young lady’s story would have turned out had her first “love” not destroyed her confidence?
So, it’s critical that you help your daughter build up hers!
- Confidence gives girls permission to be their unique selves and not feel pressure to fit in.
“You opened my eyes to a lot of new things. At the time, I was going through a situation where I really did not know what to do. You helped me build my confidence…Because of you, I promise to focus on myself more. My plan is to become a unique individual who doesn’t fall into peer pressure.“
- Confidence gives girls clarity about who they are and what they deserve.
“Thank you so much. The information you provided was so amazing. I really believe that you were sent for a reason. You really inspired me to do bigger and better things. I’ve really been struggling with self-confidence and my self-esteem and the things you said made me realize that I am somebody. I have self-harmed and have tried to commit suicide but now I’ve realized my self-value and worth.“
- Confidence gives girls courage to put their best interests before a boyfriend’s sex interests.
“I’m still a virgin but was on the verge of making the mistake of losing it for my boyfriend. I have low self-esteem and since he wanted it by doing it, I thought I could prove I’m worth it by doing it. I’m so glad I didn’t. I’m more self-confident and see my value, and I want to save myself for my future husband.“
There’s no denying confidence matters! So, make sure your daughter has a healthy dose.
Give Her the Gift of Confidence
Every girl needs confidence.
A lack of it leaves girls vulnerable, willing to accept less than they deserve and prone to making poor choices.
While a healthy dose of it leaves girls empowered, unwilling to settle for less than they deserve and inclined to make best choices for their future.
That’s what we want for your daughter!
Which is the reason I wrote 7 Secrets Guys Will Never Tell You: A Teen Girl’s Guide on Love, Sex, and Relationships.
I believe ALL girls should have access to the same confidence-building information the girls in my class are privy to.
Like on Page 6 when I talk about authentic love—what it is and how it’s best expressed,
Pages 73-74 when I show girls how to rebuild their self-respect,
And Page 153 when I remind girls that THEY are the real prize!
And that’s just to name a few!
If you haven’t already ordered a copy for your daughter or that special young lady in your life, 7 Secrets is the confidence booster you’ve been looking for.
And I can’t think of a better gift to give her this Christmas.
But don’t just take my word for it.
“Honest, direct, and compassionate all in one. I wish I had read this book before every relationship,
even in college. The truth written on these pages has the power to transform girls into
ambition, confidence, and driven women who will know their worth.”
~ Gretchen Kaufman, 23-year-old graduate student
“Honest, insightful, and thought provoking!!! This book is a MUST READ
for every teenage, girl, parent, and youth leader.”
