I Count You Among My Many Blessings!
Can you believe 2017 is almost over?? I can't! Once again, the year has flown by and here we are about to celebrate another Thanksgiving.
In honor of this special time of year, I would like to share with you a few of the things I’m thankful for.
Of course, I’m always thankful for that which is so easy to take for granted—my health, family, and friends.
I’m humbled that God would trust me to be one of His vessels bringing hope and healing to a generation of youth so desperate for TRUTH. And grateful that He continues to guide me in the best way to do so.
A Plan for Parents
I realized in 2017 that one of the best ways to help teens make good choices is to utilize technology to equip their parents via online trainings.
In 2016, I revealed guys’ 7 Secrets to girls. And in 2017, I revealed girls’ 7 Secrets to moms.
One of the secrets I revealed to them during my online training was regarding pornography and the fact that teen girls are not only viewing it, but even getting addicted to it.
A frantic mom contacted me shortly after the webinar to tell me that her 11-year-old daughter, who had watched portions of the online training with her, had confessed to viewing pornography. The mom and I emailed back and forth for the next few months and I have included excerpts from her emails below (with her permission):
During your last webinar, my 6th-grade daughter watched portions with me. In particular, I explained what pornography was and how she should always come to me should ever anything inappropriate pop up on her devices, etc… Last night, with tears in her eyes, she tells me she is a bad girl. Doesn't understand why she is doing what she is doing and that she doesn't deserve to live…This child literally spent three months drowning in sexual content. She clearly was addicted…We continue to see the therapist weekly to give her a space to talk; but I tell you, I was not prepared. Never in a million years would I have thought this about her. This is a real thing with real consequences…Thank you for being there. You literally saved my daughter's life. If we had not watched your webinar that one evening, she would not have felt compelled to tell me everything. That does not go unnoticed.
Reading this mom's email is all the confirmation I need that I am moving in the right direction by expanding my focus from just speaking to teens to also educating parents.
It is very humbling to know that my decision to say YES to my purpose 16 years ago would bring this kind of deliverance to an 11-year old girl. I'm just grateful that this young lady found the courage to reveal her secret as a result of the webinar that she attended with her mom.
