All I Want for Christmas is…

Is it just me, or does it seem like the “gift giving & receiving” tradition of Christmas loses much of its appeal once you become an adult?

If your childhood was anything like mine, the excitement of receiving a gift on Christmas was mainly because it was something that you had been dying to get the whole year.

Plus, you knew your only hope of getting it was for a special occasion, like your birthday or Christmas.

Let’s be honest, once most of us become adults, anything we want, we tend to purchase.

Which means, we unnecessarily stress ourselves out trying to figure out what to get the person who already has everything he/she wants or needs.

Not to mention that the gift giving & receiving often overshadows the REAL reason for Christmas—to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Well, I’ve decided to take a step back and reflect.

A Wish List Money Can’t Buy

So. at my ‘seasoned’ age, my Christmas wish list doesn’t include anything that money can buy.

Here’s what’s on my Christmas wish list this year…

  • Every teen will have at least one positive adult, besides their parents, that will sow into their lives.
  • All parents will have access to the information they need to equip them to raise teens who reach their full potential.
  • God will guide me on how I can best utilize my gifts & talents to empower teens and their parents…

If there’s one thing I know for sure, my “wish” list will never become a reality without the help of lots of prayers.

Won’t you join me in praying for the above?

And one last “wish” on my list?

That you have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed and prosperous New Year!
